Editorial policy
Every claim about a law, a standard, a price or a number links to its source and shows when we last checked it. If we couldn't confirm something against a primary source, it isn't on the page.
Sources
We prefer the primary source: the statute or regulation text, the EPA document and exhibit, the standard itself, or the owner's own published terms. Industry-funded studies are labelled as such. The full list is on the sources page.
Unverified material
Where we haven't checked something, we say so rather than guess. State pages we haven't checked carry no rules, only the agency to ask, and are kept out of search results.
Review
Pages show a “last reviewed” date. Reviews are currently done by the repallet.org editors; we will name individual reviewers on pages once named reviewers are in place. A weekly automated check flags any cited source that changes or stops loading, and an editor reviews it.
Corrections
Use “Report an error” on any page. Corrections to rules or factors are logged with the date on changes.
Independence
Referral partners don't see or change our rules, data or factors before publication. Pooled pallet companies are named only to describe their pallets and return routes; we aren't affiliated with them.
