First release: eleven states checked, factors confirmed
We published rules for North Carolina, Massachusetts and Vermont (landfill and disposal bans) and California, Florida, Arizona, Kansas, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin (marked and plastic pallet laws), each checked against the statute or regulation text. The other 40 state pages name the agency to ask and stay out of search until checked.
EPA Hub 2025 has no recycling factor for dimensional lumber
Checking EPA's 2025 GHG Emission Factors Hub, Table 9, we found 'NA' for recycled and composted dimensional lumber, with 0.17 landfilled and 0.05 combusted (MTCO2e per short ton). The Pallet Fate Report therefore leaves reuse and grinding out of its scope 3 inventory figure and says so, rather than borrowing another material's factor.
WARM v16 wood factors confirmed against the exhibits
Dimensional lumber factors in the calculator match WARM v16 (December 2023) Exhibit 12-3: reuse −1.66, combustion −0.58, landfill −0.92 MTCO2E per short ton; landfill gas variants −0.92, −1.01 and −1.02 from Exhibit 12-16.
